Diet
Predominantly seed, often much to the chargrin of grain farmers, as well as berries, nuts and roots.
Habitat
They prefer timbered habitat for shelter and nesting and co-habit well with humans.
Breeding
A clutch of 1 to 3 eggs are laid in a tree hollow and scribbly gums are particularly important in this regard. Both parents incubate (which takes about 30 days) and raise the chicks, with the chicks remaining with the parents to form a permanent family group.
