Nectar, fruit and seeds.
Habitat
Eucalypt forest and woodlands as well as suburban backyards.
Breeding
Nesting takes place in tree hollows, to which the Scribbly Gum is perfect due to its limb dropping tendencies, which over time result in perfect nesting hollows.
Both parents assist in rearing young, with the female incubating the eggs and the male feeding her. The clutch usually consists of 2 eggs and they have been known to lay up to 2 clutches per year if conditions are favourable.
