In General
The Galah is a common sight throughout the Redlands and indeed many other parts of the Greater South East and Queensland.
It grows to about 40cm in length and is readily identified by its rose-pink underbelly. It is often heard before it is seen with its distinctive chee-chee call. |

Seed.
Habitat
Timbered areas and generally near to water.
Breeding
The galah forms a permanent bond with its partner. They nest in tree hollows which they line with leaves. Both parents incubate the eggs and care for the young. Galahs chicks have a fairly high mortality rate of up to 50%.
