Eastern Yellow Robin

In General

The Eastern Yellow Robin is quite distinguishable by its bright yellow breast. It is a fairly small bird and not much bigger than a common sparrow, about 16 cm long and weighing about 20 grams. They are a fast moving bird and can often be seen darting from tree to tree.

Diet

Insects and spiders.

Habitat

Dry woodlands, rainforest, parks and gardens.

Breeding

The breeding season spans July to January. The female makes a nest of bark and grasses which is woven into a cup shape and lined with spider's web and other soft material. Both parents care for the young and up to three clutches can be laid per season, with 2 to 3 eggs per clutch.
